STRONG COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS: The old saying, ‘it takes a village to raise a child,’ rings true at Greenlands. Our open door policy means that parents and families are always welcome and encouraged to play an active role in their child’s education.
Our P&C fundraise each year and have provided over $80 000 to the school over the last 6 years. They provide funding to the school so that each student is provided with all the resources they need to attend Greenlands, as well as subsidise excursions, camps, plays and more.
We are also an active part in the wonderful Granite Belt Community of State Schools and participate in various events throughout the year. Our partnerships with providers such as Granite Belt Support Services, P&Cs QLD, CDS Stanthorpe, Bush Kids and more, strengthen outcomes for students and families.
Parents and Citizens’ association
Have you been wondering what a P&C Association actually does? Are you new to the school and would like to meet other parents? Do you want to get involved more with the school but aren't sure what you can do? If you answered yes to these questions then you should consider becoming a P&C member by coming along to a General Meeting, held once a term at the school.
The involvement of Parents and Citizens is an integral part of the our school.
The aims of our Parents and Citizens are:
- to further the spirit of community and cooperation amongst all members of the Greenlands' community
- enhance the learning environments and raise funds to purchase and provide facilities and equipment for the benefit of students
- to supplement (and often completely fund) all students stationery and resources
- to raise funds to subsidise school learning opportunities such as camps, exursions and school visitors
This group meets once per term (or more often for sub committee meetings). Meeting time is often 6.30pm. Membership of this group is open to any parent or citizen over 18 years.
For more details on the exact dates of these meetings, please consult the appropriate calendar/newsletter or contact the school.
