Pedagogical framework
The school pedagogical framework promotes consistency of practice, embeds collaborative inquiry processes and supports critical evaluation of the impact of research-validated pedagogies within the context of our school.
This pedagogical framework that enables teachers to unite in a common purpose, to teach with greater precision and to celebrate unprecedented success in improving student achievement.
This pedagogical framework has been collaboratively developed with the school community and ensures continued high quality teaching focused on the achievement of every student. The process of collaboration has taken place via face to face meetings (staff and P&C), communications in newsletters and email. The teaching staff has contributed to the development of this document after carefully reading and discussing the range of materials and resources listed on the pedagogy framework site.
It defines this school’s approach to six key areas:

- Alignment of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment

- Targeted and scaffolded instruction
- Safe, supportive connected and inclusive learning environments

Assessment plans
The school has a whole school assessment plan that links all key learning areas and shows what is expected of students. This plan is closely linked with our curriculum framework and school based programs.
To help students become better organised (and as information to parents) we provide an assessment planner for each term. This shows what work is due when. This document is sent home at the beginning of each term.
Information and communication technology
Learning technology is an important part of all key learning areas. Greenlands State School has created its own learning technology skills program that helps to encourage students to utilise technology to meet their learning needs in a changing world.
This program provides students with a wide range of opportunities. These include:
Computer ratios
1 computer per 3.5 children approximately.
Hardware
Desktop computers, laptops, tablets, scanner, printers, data projector, digital still cameras, digital video cameras, interactive whiteboard.
Software
Word processing, data base management, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, email and internet browsers, powerpoint presentations, web creation, video editing, animation.
