Overview

Greenlands State School has an impressive reputation for combining innovative teaching methods with a caring approach and up to date technology to provide students with a great start to lifelong learning.

Learning takes place in a self-disciplined small school environment that encourages children to reach their potential. Our individualized programmes are a feature of the balanced curriculum offered by Greenlands State School.

Visitors to this highly regarded small school can only be amazed at the quality of work produced by students and the range of educational activities available to them.

Specialist staff

Our school has a number of specialist personnel available to assist your child. Regular visitors to our school include:

  • Music teacher – visits each week.
  • Health and physical education teacher – visits each week.
  • Language Other Than English (Italian) teacher – visit twice per week.
  • Learning support teacher- one day per week.
  • Speech language pathologist - visits each term.
  • Guidance officer – visits once a fortnight.
  • Occupational therapist - visits during each term.

Extra curricular activities

To provide a balanced programme our school provides a range of innovative, exciting and challenging extra-curricular activities. These may include:

  • School camps: children (in the older year levels) may participate in a variety of fully supervised educational camps with destinations including Tallebudgera, Sydney and Canberra.
  • Eisteddfod: children of most year levels will have the opportunity to participate in musical events like the Stanthorpe and Border Districts Eisteddfod.
  • School plays: The school attends approximately three school play performances each year to give students an opportunity to broaden their cultural experiences.
  • Sports programs: At times throughout the year, Greenlands offers extra curricular sports pogram such as tennis coaching. 
  • Religious instruction: The school offers religious instruction once a week. Families can choose for their child to participate in the Christian program, a Catholic program or chose for their child not to particpate and they will complete set work from their teacher.
