School history
Greenlands State School has a colourful and proud history of service to the Granite Belt and Traprock Area communities. The school was created in 1924 after a request from the residents of Spring Creek who signed a petition for the establishment of a new school in their area.
The area now known as Greenlands derived its name from the selection of a grazing lease by Mr Greenland in 1872. At the end of World War 1, the government resumed and subdivided this area for settlement by returned servicemen.
In 1999, the school’s (and surrounding area) history was set out in the 75th Jubilee magazine.
